John McHugh

Job title: Head of Strategic & Commercial Marketing

John McHugh is responsible for leading strategic marketing and product development across a £603m mixed-use commercial MAG Property portfolio. He also has an active involvement within Airport City Manchester, the £1 billion landmark joint venture development.

In October 2015 he was responsible, along with Manchester Airport colleagues, for the organisation of the landmark visit of President Xi Jinping of China and Prime Minister David Cameron to Manchester Airport and Airport City, successfully launching the 484,000 sq ft china cluster developments, along with a new direct route to Beijing – generating over 5,000 pieces of global media coverage and reaching over 2bn people.

John was responsible for the market launch in 2015 of the refreshed MAG Property brand proposition at EXPO Real and MIPIM, followed an in-depth period of consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. MAG Property has now started the journey to position itself as a ‘market leading property company in the aviation sector’ through their unique “Airport Property Experts” brand proposition.

He joined MAG Property in 2012 after almost 7 years at Bruntwood, a family-owned commercial property company with offices in the North and Midlands, building brands in the property industry, such as Bruntwood and Manchester Science Parks. Professional experience involves the full marketing mix from marketing strategy and brand management to communications and event management.
