Construction of Enterprise Way – June 2017 Update

The first stages of the development of Enterprise Way, a £15 million infrastructure investment, are underway putting the construction project on course to be opened before the end of 2017.

The main carriageway is under construction as part of the project being delivered by main contractor and Airport City JV partner, Beijing Construction Engineering Group International (BCEGI).  The new link road forms a key element of the infrastructure that will connect new development plots to the rest of the landmark £1billion site and the wider transport network.

Lynda Shillaw, CEO of MAG Property and Airport City JV partner, said: “Looking to the near future we’re focused on ramping up development on the northern part of Airport City, as Enterprise Way begins to open up the site. We have significant interest from investors and operators for hotels, which is linked to the growth of the airport. We are also working with occupiers who are looking to develop campuses to meet both their office space requirements today and provide future flexibility.”

The construction of Enterprise Way highlights the scale of this unique site and frames the wider development opportunities across the scheme and follows the significant progress in the development of Airport City’s flagship Global Logistics development.

Over the next 10-15 years this will help to facilitate the creation of 1m sq ft of offices, 650,000 sq ft of advanced manufacturing units and 2,400 new hotels.  As a result, these developments will help create in the region of 11,400 new jobs.
