The 20,000 sq ft letting of a warehouse premises with large yard was completed at Cargo Terminal 3, supported by property agents Tim Gilbertson of FHP and Ian Muxlow at Savills, acting on behalf of owners MAG Property.

Jason King, MAG Property Estates Manager at East Midlands Airport, said: “It is fantastic that Heavyweight Air Express will benefit from expanding their operations on to the airport site at East Midlands Airport, the largest pure cargo airport in the UK. Our focus at MAG Property is to identify the most appropriate property solution to suit the individual needs of businesses and we’re proud to be supporting Heavyweight Air Express as they expand their business here.”

Tim Gilbertson, FHP, said: “Having dealt with Heavyweight Air Express a number of times before it was great to see them take on this warehouse at East Midlands Airport which we had been marketing on behalf of our clients, Manchester Airports Group, the owners of the Airport.

“The unit appealed to Heavyweight due to its proximity to the runway but also with the building having the benefit of a large secure yard.  We wish Heavyweight well in their continued expansion and thank the owners of East Midlands Airport again for their instructions which were grateful received by both ourselves and our joint agent.”

Neville Karai, Director at Heavyweight, said: “Thank you to Tim Gilbertson and FHP and to his clients for facilitating our move onto the airport.  This expansion is a great move for our company and continues our trend of business expansion and progression. Tim was great to deal with throughout and I hope that I will have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.”
